Research Experience

PhD Researcher- D2LAB, Ghent University, Belgium & MIRO Core Lab, Flanders Make, Belgium, 2022- present

• Delivered a small validation case study in collaboration with Atlas Copco Company

• Integrated Fiber optic sensors in the stator and rotor of an Induction Motor; developed installation and calibration procedure

• Executed experimental test campaigns on an Induction Motor

• Developed a reduced-order 3D FEM thermal model of an induction motor and validated it against measurements

• Implemented inverse thermal parameter estimation and loss identification using experimental data

• Developed a sensor placement algorithm to optimize measurement observability

Research Interests

• Electric machines testing & validation (induction motors, thermal behavior)

• Fiber optic and conventional sensing for e-machines (integration, calibration)

• Thermal modelling: 2D/3D FEM, reduced-order modelling (ROM)

• Inverse modelling: parameter estimation & loss identification

• Diagnostics: fault detection and fault-tolerant control

• Data-driven methods (ML/DL) for condition monitoring
